  • How long does asphalt take to Cure?

You will want to wait at least 3 days before allowing vehicles to drive on your asphalt surface, and it can take 6-12 months before fully hardening.

  • How long should I wait before driving on my new asphalt driveway or commercial parking lot?

You should wait for a minimum of 3 days (longer if the temperatures are high) before driving on your newly paved asphalt surface.

  • What is resurfacing?

Resurfacing is when our experts add a new asphalt layer to your existing pavement. Usually, this layer will be 1.5 to 2 inches thick. You may have also heard this called pavement overlaying or asphalt overlay.

  • Will leaking oil from vehicles damage my asphalt?

Oil and other vehicle fluids can cause your asphalt to break down. To combat this, we recommend regular cleanings for your asphalt surfaces.

  • There are small sections of my asphalt missing or cracking. Can this be repaired by patching?

If you notice small potholes, cracks or missing sections in your asphalt, our expert team recommends getting these fixed as soon as possible. Quickly taking care of problem areas can help you save money on significant repairs in the long run.

  • Can an asphalt surface be installed over concrete?

Yes! At Countywide Asphalt & Paving, we can switch your concrete driveway or parking lot to asphalt. If you're interested in installing new asphalt over your concrete surface, contact our experts at (810) 744-2879, so we can examine the area and find the best solution for you and your property.

  • What are the Benefits of Asphalt?

Asphalt is 100% recyclable, long-lasting, and creates less road noise for drivers. It is also winter weather-resistant and creates a surface with more traction making it safer for drivers. The dark coloring of asphalt creates a great contrast to help drivers see parking lot markings and road lines easier and is a cost-effective solution to having a beautiful parking lot, driveway, or roadway.

  • How long does a new asphalt parking lot or driveway last?

You can expect your asphalt parking lot to last 10-20 years and an asphalt driveway to last 20-40 years. The longevity of your asphalt surface depends on many factors, including but not limited to traffic, quality of base materials, and frequency of maintenance.

  • What do I need to know about Asphalt Maintenance?

Asphalt offers excellent long-term parking and roadway solutions that are cost-effective and reliable when properly maintained. To ensure your asphalt lasts as long as possible quick repairs of potholes and cracks are essential. If you notice cracking or missing sections in your asphalt pavement, call our experts today at (810) 744-2879, and we will work with you to provide fast quality repairs.

  • Can asphalt be poured when it's raining?

Generally, asphalt should not be poured when it is raining. Since the asphalt mixture contains oil and water and oil naturally repels each other, paving asphalt surfaces while actively raining can cause cracks and holes in your pavement.
